Acute angle closure is an emergency
The drainage is suddenly blocked and the pressure rises sharply within a short time. Typical warning signs in one eye:
- severe eye pain or headache
- red, hard eye
- blurred vision, coloured halos around lights
- nausea or vomiting
If these signs occur together: act immediately – go to an eye emergency department or eye clinic the same day. Fast treatment can save your sight; every hour counts. Do not wait and do not drive yourself – get a lift or call for help.
